Isn't it odd that
colloquialisms like
"hang" were being
used during the
eighteenth century?
I like to imagine
the Founding Fathers
hanging out outside
The Yellow Goose
drinking Sunny D
and gleaming the cube

Yesterday I Came Across A Website with A Great Idea for Container Gardening
ReplyDeletehttp://www.urbanorganicgardener.com/how-to-make-a-hanging-herb-planter-using-recycled-soda-bottles/
basic idea:
hang plants upside down in old soda bottles
more detailed instructions:
save old soda bottles
(or other containers)
cut off bottom
line edge with duct tape
(for strength)
punch holes
two on each side
attach string
drill hole in cap
add seedlings
hang
seeds I've started I will probably hang:
oregano
basil
Italian parsley
mint
arugula
salad bowl lettuce
seeds I've started I definitely won't hang:
red bell peppers
tomatoes
sunflowers
I'm not sure what category the marigolds fall in.
=============================
A few notes:
I make salads often.
Outdoor planting season here in Grand Forks, ND is not till 1 June.
(It snowed today.)
I'm dangling

Hovering
Above it all
Lifted up in suspense,
Delight is killing me.
Then the chords fade
And I know true death:
Falling from the heights
Because there are no more notes
From which to hang.
