About Rand

Rand Bellavia is the Director of the Library at D'Youville College in Buffalo, New York.  He is also an adjunct member of the D'Youville English Department, where he teaches Essentials of Poetry, a "poetry for physicists" style poetry appreciation course.

From 1989-1991, he edited and published four issues of the poetry journal The Lanthorn.  In 1991, he also selected and edited Let the Eye Fall Through: The Selected Poems of William T. Allen.

Rand spent a year teaching creative writing at the MonDay Community Correctional Facility in Dayton, Ohio.  He edited a collection of prison writings called Inside Looking Out, which was published by the state of Ohio and is currently used throughout the state as a reading textbook for adult learners.

In his other life, Rand is the singer, songwriter, guitarer, tromboner for the nerd-rock/filk band Ookla the Mok.
