Judgement - by Rand

When I
close my
eyes, relax
and simply
say the word
I'm left
with a sense
of dread

Like something
terrible is
about to
happen

I suppose
I haven't
been wronged
enough

  1. Fight.
    Got to fight.
    Gotta stop the whispers
    From those who don't
    Even know me.

  2. Sky

    At the park
    You look up in wonder
    "Sky" I say, pointing
    You smile and reach out
    As if to touch it
I hope you never stop trying.

  3. I don't know
    How it happened
    Or when,
    If I did something
    Wrong
    Or didn't do it
    Enough.
    All I know
    Is that now you say
    I'm not your hero
    Or even related.
    I try to do good
    By you,
    But somehow it's all
    Burned down.
    You see me--
    Saw me--
    As a mighty oak
    But now the sting
    Of your words
    Of your actions
    Of my distance and
    Helplessness
    Have diseased this oak
    And have cut it
    D
    ...O
    ......W
    .........N
    And all I know
    Is that somewhere
    Inside
    It hurts
    To be...

  4. Feet

    Grounding
    Flat on the floor
    My feet remind me
    To keep moving forward
and leave the past behind me

    Awakening
I push down through my toes
and reach up to greet the sun
    Tuning out all the noise
As mind and body become one

    Liberating
In my teens I once decided
To walk through the town centre
    With my feet bare
I was shy back then but when people stared
    I didn’t care

    Refreshing
    Running through the park
Its like I can stop time
My feet barely touch the grass
Leaving my worries a mile behind me

    Supporting
    When life gets too much
They take me to where I need to be
The footprints in the sand are mine
I hope my feet never fail me.
